May 19, 2011 - PRLog -- The University of Southern California Ross Minority Program in Real Estate, a professional training program that teaches real estate fundamentals to individuals interested in creating positive change in emerging communities, is still accepting applications for its summer session that begins June 9.

Launched after the period of civil unrest in Los Angeles in 1992 and later expanded with a grant from USC Lusk Center for Real Estate Chairman Stan Ross and his wife Marilyn, the program helps members of minority groups and those who invest time and financial resources in emerging communities to become leaders in real estate finance and development.

The curriculum includes real estate finance, market analysis, highest and best use analysis, and site planning, all of which are taught using various teaching methods, such as lectures, field trips and panel discussions. Participants leave the program with an understanding of the development process as well as access to a substantial network in the real estate industry.

The summer session takes place over a span of four weekends (Thursday, Friday and Saturday): June 9-11, June 16-18, June 23-25 and June 29-July 1.

The session has only a few spots remaining. For more information, visit www.usc.edu/ross  or contact Dawn Santos at 213.821.1031.
