Triangle Wins Another Top 10 Award!

May 19, 2011 - PRLog -- The Triangle area has won another national accolade to add to its many Top 10 wins:  the International Headquarters of the American Marketing Association (AMA) has selected the Triangle Chapter as Second Runner Up, Chapter of the Year, in the Chapter Excellence Awards. The Triangle Chapter was recognized at the national AMA Leadership Summit in Chicago, IL on April 30 which included all 75 AMA chapters across the United States and Canada.  

CEO of the AMA, Dennis Dunlap, sent this praise to the local chapter: “The Triangle is one of our higher performing chapters having won a number of Special Merit Awards in the past few years, Turnaround Chapter of the Year in 2007/08 and now being selected as one of the top three AMA chapters. We appreciate the significant contributions the Triangle has made to the AMA.”

Karen Albritton, Immediate Past President of Triangle AMA, accepted the award on behalf of the chapter.  She told the conference how the chapter faced a number of challenges during a tough economic year with nearly one four of its members in job transition.  The all-volunteer Board of Directors for the Triangle Chapter understood the challenges facing local organizations and marketers in all sectors and focused on what mattered to the local community – putting marketers back to work.

Karen, who is also President of Capstrat, a leading communications agency, commented: “In addition to being a great place to live and work, the Triangle is home to an amazing community of smart, creative marketing professionals. It’s terrific that the Triangle marketing community has been recognized by the American Marketing Association as one of the best in the country – especially when we’re going up against some pretty big markets.”
