SWEET SOUL RECORDS Reaches Japan Music Distribution Agreement with France-based FAVORITE Recordings.

An exclusive agreement has been reached between SWEET SOUL RECORDS and FAVORITE Recordings. This agreement will allow for Japan-wide distribution of the CD and LP, "Number One," by France-based funkster Mr. President (aka Bruno "Patchworks" Hovart).

May 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Today, SWEET SOUL RECORDS, parent company lifesound, Inc., officially announced that an agreement has be reached with France-based funk and soul man, Mr. President and FAVORITE Recordings, for nationwide distribution of Mr. President’s album “Number One.”

Following the trail of success left by his projects Uptown Funk Empire, The Dynamics, or Metropolitan Jazz Affair, Bruno "Patchworks" Hovart has proven his musical ubiquity, album after album, and unexpectedly in various genres.

His first releases were in the mid 90s, with deep house and disco live bands and various electronic projects. He quickly developed and demonstrated very unique skills for vintage disco/funk productions with a contemporary flavor. Patchworks has been working with artists such as Amp Fiddler, Archie Shepp, Mr. Day, and Paul Randolph... along with numerous recording labels such as I Still Music (US), FAVORITE Recordings (FR), Infracom (GR), and Further Out (UK).

This time he’s chosen soul music, offering up an album that’s subtle yet enraged, jam-packed with rich and contrasting orchestration, as well as remarkable vocalists (Hawa, Mounam, JRMNM, and Mr. Day).

Teaming up again with Favorite Recordings (Onra, Buddy Sativa, Funk League, Big Single), the album has remained loyal to a vintage production style, while featuring hip-hop, house, breakbeat and afrobeat influences – a vintage sound with a contemporary approach to music.

“Channeling the work of Isaac Hayes and Curtis Mayfield during their heyday, Mr. President's “Number One” will have you breaking out your finest polyester bell bottoms and afro pick with the fist to get into character.” says Soulbounce.com

From Michael Harris, SWEET SOUL RECORDS Senior Manager, “I would like to thank Pascal Rioux over at FAVORITE Recordings for working hand-in-hand with us, and at such a hectic pace, to make this release possible. The music that Patchworks is creating, it’s very rare especially amongst the younger artists. We’re extremely fortunate to have his music associated with SWEET SOUL RECORDS.”

Following the club and radio success of hits like “Love and Happiness” or “Meet Again,” this record is a treasure of gems that collectors will love, as will soul and other music lovers of all horizons. The very catchy “The Best Is Yet To Come” is ready to become one of the hippest soul music hits of 2011!!

SWEET SOUL RECORDS will release “Number One” in Japan on May 25, 2011, in both CD and LP formats.
