Toronto NBA Show Releases New Book & Helps Charities

May 25, 2011 - PRLog -- With over 150 guests visiting "The Breakdown with Dave & Audley" since 2008, Dave and Audley realized they were sitting on a gold mine of great stories, funny conversations and uplifting quotes that basketball fans across the globe would appreciate.

So, they decided to collect the best sound bites and transform them into a paperback version and an audio e-quote book.

Thus, Basketball Talk, The Way It Should Be: A Baller & Celebrity Quote Book was born.

It features hilarious, surprising and inspiring conversations with many high profile guests including 2006 NBA Champion, Gary Payton, Academy Award-winner, Mo'Nique and 2010-11 Rookie of the Year winner, Blake Griffin.

You'll also discover captivating stories about former and current NBA stars including Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

In addition, 1990s TV sitcom star, Jaleel "Steve Urkel" White contributed the foreword for the book.

It's a collection of basketball quotes like no other.

The book will benefit two charities that have personal meaning to Dave and Audley.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to:

       Epilepsy Halton Peel Hamilton (http://www.EpilepsyHaltonPeel.org)

       ErinoakKids Foundation (http://www.erinoakkids.ca/)

Involving charities was a given for these Toronto natives.

Dave explains, "I had epilepsy as a kid. It was a tough period of my life, so the fact we can help EHPH by giving them some money to enhance the quality of lives of people with seizure disorders, through their support services, is an honour."

In 2008, Audley and his wife received the diagnosis that their daughter was on the autism spectrum, so he understands the value of charities like the ErinoakKids Foundation:

"It's places like Erinoak that really help kids and families deal with life's bumps and persevere. I admire how they assist children and youth with physical, developmental and communication disabilities to achieve great levels of independence, health and well-being. Thank you for all the work that you do."
