Dawna Lee Heising of EOE Interviews Craig Burnie Burns of OC GAFFER

May 18, 2011 - PRLog -- Craig “Burnie” Burns was a guest on Eye on Entertainment in March 2011 at the Time Warner Cable studio in Costa Mesa, CA.  Burns is a leader and innovator in the video production lighting business, and his company, Burnies Grip and Lighting, is the largest one of its kind south of Los Angeles, CA.  During the early 80's, Burns ran operations for a large import/export company distributing foreign manufactured cars. He had 60 people working under him when the company sent him to Los Angeles to set up and run its port processing operations there. When Burns was offered a promotion and transfer to Indiana, he made a life-changing career move. Staying in California, he entered the video production industry, working as a production assistant and movie extra while learning the ropes.

In 1998, Burns began to purchase grip and lighting gear, a practice he continues to this day. Burns explains that he saw buying gear as a way to create much-needed supplemental income at the time. His passion for the business and acquiring equipment grew with his knowledge of the industry and production needs. This strategy has worked well for Burns, who now offers several grip trucks and equipment enough to handle any size production.  Today Burns services the entire southern California region, and his business has expanded to include servicing the Hollywood production scene, as well as television newsroom lighting, studio lighting, and lighting radio stations for online broadcast.  

And now Craig "Burnie" Burns is the OC Gaffer.  OC Gaffer is a new reality series that features Burns as a junk yard dog who is tough as nails!   According to the website, “He's not going stop until he is working the biggest sets in LA. There is only one way to do that and that is making the best looking picture he can every time he is on set, he will not be detoured or compromised from that goal, no matter who he has to fight to get it done!” Sam Rubin, KTLA Entertainment Reporter, says, "I really thought the show was funny!"
