May 18, 2011 - PRLog -- Charlotte, NC – May 18, 2011: 7807 Media, in conjunction with Made By Custom and Espada Bicycles, presents Beats, Rhymes, And…:The Photographic & Artistic Movement, a solo exhibit featuring the work of Charlotte photographer & visiual artist Naya’Hri Zaire-Suhalia.

Beats, Rhymes, And…  will be on public display from Wednesday, June 1, 2011 to Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Custom/Espada Gallery, located in the historic NoDa arts district of Charlotte.  The opening reception will take place on Friday, June 3, 2011 from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM. This exhibit is open to the public and is free. All work will be available for purchase.

Beats Rhymes, And…  is a collection of twenty-five digital and film produced images and graphic illustrations that capture the passionate movements of dancers of various genres (break-dance/hip-hop, flamenco, ballet, etc.) as well as explore the artist’s definition of “natural central outer beauty”.  The images and illustrations, which were either edited or completely created using both the Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator programs, serve as a personal triumph for Zaire-Suhalia, who makes no secret of dislike for the programs. “I hate Photoshop with a passion, and try to shoot in a way where I don’t have to rely on it much, if at all,” says Naya’Hri, “However, I’m glad I learned to work with these programs regardless of my distaste for them, because they have allowed me to turn my love of human movement and spirit into creations that my camera could not have produced alone, in my opinion.”

Naya’Hri Zaire-Suhalia is a photographer, painter, writer & emerging jewelry designer.  A rare native of Los Angeles, CA, Naya’Hri has been a resident of Charlotte for three years, and has had photographic and written works featured in GBF Magazine, Nyansapo Magazine, Outfest L.A. film festival, Kaos Network and Art Share of Los Angeles. Suhalia’s very first solo exhibit, however, was in Charlotte at Real Eyes Bookstore (now known as Red @ 28th) in 2010. Suhalia is currently working on the completion of her first coffee table book, Aficio: The Images & Stories of Cigar Connoisseurs, which is set to be published in September 2011.
