May 18, 2011 - PRLog -- LAMBERTVILLE, NJ - Several staff members from TayganPoint Consulting Group attended the Autism Cares Foundation’s Second Annual Auction and Gala on April 29 at Belle Voir Manor in Bensalem.
TayganPoint’s involvement with the Autism Cares Foundation stems from its CEO, Joy Taylor, whose daughter was diagnosed with Autism in July, 2007.  Taylor and her family are active members of the Foundation and often participate in the monthly BounceU and other Foundation-sponsored events.
The Gala was an opportunity for the Autism Cares Foundation to raise money so it can continue to sponsor activities and seminars, including: sensory friendly movies, bowling parties and basic skills workshops, for individuals with Autism.
The evening started with a silent auction.  Guests had plenty of time to peruse the many items being auctioned.  Many employees from TayganPoint won their desired prizes including an iPad 2, a wine tasting event and a haunted house tour.  “As the auction time came to a close, people really began to protect their most coveted items and the bidding cranked into overdrive; It was very exciting,” Deb Bloore, a consultant at TayganPoint said.
Following the silent auction, Pennsylvania State Representative, Dennis M. O’Brien and keynote speaker, Samuel Sennott, creator of an iPad and iPhone application that gives a voice to non-verbal children and adults, were presented with the special “CARES AWARD” for their contributions to helping and promoting Autism awareness.  In addition, Ms. Taylor was presented an award for her continued dedication and support of the Autism Cares Foundation.
The TayganPoint family was touched by the stories about families living with individuals with Autism and left with an appreciation and new understanding of how challenging life can be for families affected by this disorder.  “It was a very heart-felt event and there were so many people who attended that have firsthand experience with Autism and it just really meant a lot to hear the different stories and you really felt that by being there you were helping out a little bit.  It was a very emotional event and truly made you stop and think and wish that you could do more to help out this great cause,” said Leslie Hammesfahr, the TayganPoint office manager. TayganPoint continues to support the Autism Cares Foundation and is excited to put together a team for the Autism Race for Resources in November!
