Annapolis Lighting acquires former Burgess Lighting location in Fairfax, VA

May 17, 2011 - PRLog -- Lighting leader Annapolis Lighting, a subsidiary of Colonial Electric Company, Inc., continues aggressive growth and expansion plans as it acquires a new location in the busy Fairfax, VA business district. Formerly a Burgess Lighting store, Annapolis Lighting is currently re-organizing the showroom, adding $250,000 in new products and expanding its services across the board.

Some of the changes already in progress:  
•  Upgrade level and availability of merchandise by adding new vendor and product lines
•  Expand lighting and decorative services for interior designers, decorators, custom builders, architects and other professional service providers
•  Expand volume buying power and internal transfer system to more efficiently  replenish inventory and fill customer orders quickly
•  Create in-store lamp shade division and add lamp service repair

“We are delighted to be in Fairfax and are putting all our available resources into transforming this showroom,”says Colonial Electric’s Dave Bellwoar. “We want to be the “go-to” resource for interior designers, decorators and custom builders with our service-oriented, decorative lighting and accessory offerings.”  

The former Burgess Lighting staffers are being retained and re-trained in the Annapolis Lighting model. The merchandising supervisor of the Fairfax location, Waleed Osman, will now oversee merchandising at all three area locations. He adds, “We’ll be able to show customers a thousand different fixtures right here. It’s a true upgrade in the customer shopping experience.”

Based in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, Colonial Electric Supply Co. brings decades of experience on the commercial side. Twelve years ago, the company created its retail division with Bright Light Design Centers in the Pennsylvania and surrounding areas, and by acquiring Annapolis Lighting in the Washington metro region two years ago.
