Fresh from his performances at the Las Vegas Science Festival and the Sofia International Science Festival in Bulgaria, Dr Mark Lewney brings his infamous show, ‘Rock Guitar in 11 Dimensions” to the Valleys Discovery Festival at the Abertillery Community Theatre on Thursday at 7pm.
Described by the BBC as a “cross between Einstein and Hendrix”, Doctor Lewney’s 1-hour show explains what causes the revolutionary, history-changing sound of rock guitar, and how it helps us to understand the nature of the stuff we‘re made of. The physics of rock is explained using riffs from Vivaldi to AC/DC, and suggests that string vibrations might lie at the heart of the Big Questions about the universe.
