New market study, "Qatar Commercial Banking Report Q2 2011", has been published

PRLog (Press Release) - May 17, 2011 - Banking Sector Will Remain An Outperformer  Qatar's banking sector appears resilient heading into 2011 and is well positioned to achieve strong asset  growth in the coming years. While increased demand from a stronger private sector will bolster loan  growth, the government's extensive spending plans will also make a massive contribution to asset  growth.  Qatar's economic growth story remains one of our favourites in the Middle East. The great acceleration  in asset and loan growth over the past months, with no convincing signs of a slowdown, forced us to  revise up our end-2010 forecast to 21.0% year-on-year (y-o-y), compared to our less optimistic 18.0%  previously. Being the fastest growing economy in the world, with real GDP forecast to expand by  17.0% in 2011, we hold on to our view that the Qatari banking sector will be an outperformer, with  asset growth maintaining a similar rate at above 20.0% at least throughout 2011.
