May 16, 2011 - PRLog -- Alabama was devastated with tornadoes on April 27, 2011, the deadliest "tornado day" in the United States since 1925.  The storm footage in Tuscaloosa had people glued to their TV's, but so many areas around the state were hit almost as hard and are still in shambles.  As the weeks have passed, total destruction of entire neighborhoods is still visible.  Market shelves have been bare and many across the state are still without power.  In order to raise money and awareness to the needs of the people who have survived this catastrophic event, John Paul Mitchell Systems and NewTek, Inc. have teamed up with the American Red Cross to present a LIVE webcast fundraiser on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the ACME Comedy Hollywood with proceeds going to the American Red Cross.

As of Friday, May 13, 2011 the facts surrounding the aftermath of this calamitous occurrence in Alabama are:
* Death toll currently at 238
* 446 unaccounted for
* 2,219 injured
* 654 currently displaced families
* 1,500 people living in 65 Red Cross Shelters
* 3,055 residents filed for unemployment since 4/27/11
