JULY 11, 2011 – JULY 28, 2011
Monday-Thursday for 12 classes
Session 1: 9:30am-11:00am
Session 2: 11:30am-1:00pm

Registration is under way for LEAP’s Summer Reading Camp, a three week summer program for children in grades 1-12 who are experiencing difficulties with reading and writing. Children will receive a reading assessment by a certified reading specialist prior to instruction and at the conclusion of the program with a final written report prepared for parents. A balanced approach to literacy and research–based strategies are used. Specific individualized learning goals will be developed by certified literacy specialists through on-going assessment in word recognition, fluency, comprehension, meaning vocabulary, and spelling development. Every student is matched to their own teacher to maximize learning. The program will provide all instructional materials for each child and include a break with a healthy snack.

The program will be held Monday –Thursday at LEAP’s Reading Clinic in the Phillip Sheridan School Building, 3200 Elmwood Avenue (near Sheridan Dr.) Suite 214, Town of Tonawanda. Parents may choose one of two sessions, either 9:30 am – 11:00 am or 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. The twelve sessions run from July 11, 2011 – July 28, 2011. The total cost of the program is $255.00. Early bird registration by June 15th is only $230.00. We do not wish to turn any child away for financial reasons and will look at sliding fee scales and payment plans to accommodate family needs.

To register, call the LEAP of WNY office at 873-0429. Early registration is encouraged as openings are limited. More information is available at www.leapofwny.org. You may pay online with PayPal or Credit Card
