First Coast Manufacturers Association Offers Workshop For Recession Survivors

First Coast Manufacturers Association Is conducting a Post Recession Business Strategy workshop to help those who survived the recession to rebound during the recovery.

PRLog (Press Release) - May 15, 2011 - Jacksonville, Fla.;  Working on the premise that the worst of the Great Recession is over, the First Coast Manufacturers Association (FCMA) is offering a workshop to help those companies that survived the economy so far to be poised to rebound during the recovery.
   FCMA’s workshop, “Post Recession Business Strategy,” will feature a group of expert panelists to discuss strategies and to allow attendees to ask specific questions on recovery strategies.
   Among the topics to be covered include…
•   How to re-recruit former employees;
•   How to retain talent;
•   How to determine if you are offering the right pay scale and benefits;
•   Replacing or supplementing an aging workforce;
•   The best means of training new employees;
•   What is involved in succession planning, post-recession.
Panelists include representatives from small businesses, large companies and international companies. Those participating include Lisa Harris, Safariland, a division of BAE Systems; Renee Vozel, Ameritape, Inc.; Neil Ross, The Ronco Group; Carlos Zanoelo, Gerdau Ameristeel; Susan Hamilton, CSX; moderator Matt Waesche, BAE Systems Southeast Shipyards.
   “If your business has survived the past couple of years during these tough economic times, you have done a great job,” explained Lad Daniels, president of FCMA. “But it isn’t over. It is critical that companies take advantage of specific measures to help them rebound from the recession. That’s why we have assembled a unique group of experts to share their strategies and recommendations for recovery to other Northeast Florida businesses,” Daniels said.
   The workshop will be held Wednesday, May 25 at the University Center (building 43 – 12000 Alumni Drive) at the University of North Florida, from 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM. The cost is $35 for FCMA members and $50 for the general public. Reservations must be made by emailing sherri@fcmaweb.com or calling 296-9664.
   The First Coast Manufacturers Association is a non-profit trade association serving Northeast Florida. There are over 1,500 manufacturing companies on the First Coast, supplying over 30,000 jobs and generating nearly 15% of the total gross regional product.
