This breakout novel, based on a true story of the life of Floridian blockade runner, Colonel C. T. Jenkins, tells of the protagonists early days in Victorian Baltimore where he lived a life of privilege in the household of his prestigious father, William V. Jenkins, Customs House Officer.

The well-documented action saga reveals Jenkins' early life at Huntington Estate, near Baltimore's Druid Hill; his departure from Baltimore shortly after the Leonoid meteor showers of 1833, and his adventures in fighting during the Seminole Wars in Georgia and Florida.

The Jenkins' family, known for their Confederate leanings, included Michael Jenkins, publisher of the Catholic Review which was suppressed by the Lincoln administration during the Civil War.  James Ryder Randall, poet and a member of the Jenkins' family was in attendance at the dinner party at which Jenkins' engagement was announced, after which he visited the Colonel before penning, 'My Maryland'.  'My Maryland', of course went on to become Maryland's state song and speaks of the author's outrage that the Lincoln administration would march Union troops through the Confederate sympathetic city.  The movement of troops through Baltimore ultimately resulted in The Pratt Street riot, wherein a number of civilians and Union soldiers lost their lives.

JENKINS: Confederate Blockade Runner has been peer-reviewed by the historians of the Hernando County Historical Association in Brooksville, Florida and enjoys high praise and 5-star reviews on both Amazon.com and Goodreads.com.

JENKINS: Confederate Blockade Runner is cataloged under ISBN number 9780982971307 and retails for $19.95 in softcover, $4.99 in eBook format.
