The SEQOHS (Safe, Effective, Quality, Occupational health Services) Accreditation Scheme is a stand-alone scheme managed by the Royal College of Physicians of London on behalf of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine. The aim of the SEQOHS Accreditation Scheme is to ensure, through regular monitoring, that required quality standards are maintained by accredited OH Services. Assessment for accreditation is against the SEQOHS Standards, which were developed by the Faculty of Occupational Medicine in collaboration with a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary stakeholder group.
The SEQOHS scheme was launched in December 2010, and more than 100 organisations have applied to be accredited.
Healthwork was the first organisation to be assessed, and the assessment visit took place in Manchester on 13 May 2011 at the Healthwork offices. After a thorough assessment, the assessors awarded Healthwork full accreditation for a period of 5 years.
The assessors congratulated Healthwork on the quality and robustness of the systems and processes in place, and commented that Healthwork has 'excellent documents overall that exceed the minimum standard'. Healthwork was described by the assessors as 'a well led and managed service'. Healthwork met all of the SEQOHS minimum standards and the assessors commented that Healthwork often exceeded the minimum service describing Healthwork as an exemplar service.
