May 14, 2011 - PRLog -- PickEgg.com is a large B2C trading platform which is dedicated in the retail and wholesale of electronic products, creative gadgets, drop shipping, OEM, and providing money-making channels for customers. PickEgg spare no effort in providing the products of more satisfactory qual do feel safe and free to place the order on its website. However, not all are trustful websites like pickegg, so, you should always be careful when you do online shopping. Here are some representative scamers that happened to pickegg itself. Someone, who pretend to be major clients or business cooperators to defraud people of their money,.

PickEgg has received an unsolicited email from a company looking for representatives to establish a business presence in other countries and more importantly, for transferring payments from customers, promising to give 5-10% of those payments then it is dealing with a scam. No legitimate business will pay that much money for transferring legitimate payments because in all cases there are far cheaper and safer alternatives.

The "representative scam" is a check fraud scam. It can work on a massive scale, causing damages from thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Losses of several tens of thousands of dollars are very common. Most of the victims are from the USA and Canada because these are the countries where use of checks as a means of payment is most widely spread (Europeans and Japanese tend to make more use of wire transfers). The scam takes advantage of a misconception that many if not most people have that a check has been verified as genuine if it "clears" and money shows up in their bank account. In fact a check can bounce even after that. Not the bank but the person depositing the check is fully liable for any resulting losses.

In some cases, names of legitimate companies are abused when recruiting "representatives". The criminals may even list the legitimate websites. They may register web addresses that are similar to the real companies' addresses. In other cases no real company by that name exists.

There is a scam using stolen credit card information. The scammer contacts PickEgg (http://www.pickegg.com/) (among other companies) and places a large order.
Here is the detailed email information:
Good Day Samantha.
My name is Marcus manager of Marcus&Sons Group Of Companies' want to buy some Avon Fragrances for my workers and partners as a gifts for their dedication for working hard and will like to know if you could assist me do this as i am a busy person.

These are the fragrances i will like to purchase.

Iron manĀ® Eau DE Toilette Spray:-50 bottles.

I will appreciate it if you can give me the total cost for the fragrances I want to purchase will do
the payment in full with my secure credit card, Kindly get back to on this ASAP. Hope to read your mail soon.

The scammer then pays with a stolen credit card.
The goods are shipped to a post office box (or similar) where the scammer instructs a shipping company (DHL,UPS etc) to pick up the goods and send to Nigeria.
In this credit card defraud, it would appear that they have a mule in the USA for shipping out goods. It's a very common trick, and scammers have been known to use stolen credit cards to order goods and then ship them back to their country (almost happened to a stationers business a member of my family works for when the Nigerian scammer wanted computer supplies).

PickEgg will always remind people of these vast numbers of online buyers to raise the awareness of prevention and screening capacity.
