“There have been people in my life who have helped me along the way. There is no doubt that I am who I am today in part due to the unselfishness of others,” shares Dr. Reagin. “By partnering with SCL, I can ‘pay it forward’ and help to improve the lives of children in my community,” he adds.
The generosity of doctors like Dr. Reagin and hundreds of others who have joined SCL is what makes the program available to working families struggling in the current economy. SCL encourages youth who meet the following criteria to apply to the program:
Ages 10-18
With crooked teeth and/or misaligned jaws
With good oral hygiene
Families whose taxable income is at or below 200% of Federal Poverty Level
A family’s financial situation changes throughout the years. A child’s oral health and social development shouldn’t be compromised due to hardships. Dentists, clinics, families, teachers, nurses and all who work with low-income children are encouraged to nominate a child for this program. Applications can be downloaded at www.smileschangelives.org/
SCL is a nationwide program serving children in all 50 states. Email info@smileschangelives.org for more information or to join the mailing list, or join SCL online at www.smileschangelives.org/
