Timeshare Association, TATOC, issues spring edition of its timeshare magazine Sharetime

The Timeshare Association (for Timeshare Owner Committees), also known as TATOC, today launched the spring edition of its Sharetime magazine for all timeshare owners, TATOC members and affiliates.

May 13, 2011 - PRLog -- The 32-page Sharetime magazine contains a range of interesting industry and holiday news and stories for timeshare owners and the committees who represent them. This is the sixth issue of the magazine in its current format and it can be viewed and downloaded at www.sharetimemagazine.com.

The focus of magazine is the recent TATOC conference with summaries of the main presentations from TATOC staff, RDO’s Paul Gardener Bougaard and Dr Anthony Patterson from Liverpool University. There is also news from the industry working party which met again during the conference.

Following on from the last issue, Sharetime considers the hot topic of environmental issues. This time Sharetime considers the costs involved with making resorts ‘green’ and how, by cutting costs, resorts can actually make money. Freda Stemick from the Resort Trades tells us how resorts across the world are tackling the issue.

Readers will meet Lisa Ann Schrier, the timeshare crusader, who is Sharetime’s latest columnist. Ms Schrier talks about the issues facing the US timeshare industry and will be a regular contributor to the magazine. We also take a look at two of the most popular timeshare blogs: who writes them, what do they have to say and why do they do it? There are examples from Ms Schrier and Phil Watson, the timeshare lord, from Worldwide Timeshare Hypermarket.

This edition also includes a report from TATOC board director Geoff Chapman on TATOC’s successful association with Which? Travel, while fellow director Jennie Thompson asks the question “Do you trust your trustee?”

There is the latest round up of news from TATOC member resorts, an update on new TATOC members in Spain and Tenerife and details from RCI about their recent members’ meetings and new Platinum service.

“For those who were unable to attend the conference, Sharetime provides a great summary of this superb event. It is also interesting to read more about environmental issues and how resorts are tackling this topic,” said Mr. Harry Taylor, TATOC Executive Chairman. “This issue is a great magazine, full of information and news which our members and timeshare owners in general will find of real value.”

Previously printed and distributed to just its member resorts, Sharetime is now available to all timeshare owners through its own dedicated website in digital format using page flip technology. The magazine is edited by industry veteran Colin Collins. To view the magazine, visit www.sharetimemagazine.com.

TATOC represents over 80 resorts throughout Europe and has access to over 250,000 timeshare owners. The aim of the magazine is to provide a positive image of the industry to both timeshare owners and the general public. Sharetime magazine supports the efforts of TATOC to promote timeshare, protect consumers from scammers and to secure the future of a legitimate industry for its members to continue to enjoy. The digital format allows this message to be spread even further.

There is a direct link to the Sharetime site and the magazine from the TATOC website, www.timeshareassociation.org.
