May 12, 2011 - PRLog -- Living Color Aquariums and Themed Environments has been selected by the Conservancy of Southwest Florida’s and  Maltbie to build  all the Aquariums, Aquatic Exhibits and Animal Habitats at the Conservancy of Southwest Florida’s new Dalton Discovery Center at  the Naples Nature Center.

The Conservancy of Southwest Florida is headquartered on a 21-acre nature preserve in the heart of Naples. The campus is a central location for research, advocacy and education programs, as well as an interactive nature destination. The new Dalton Discovery Center has been designed by  the famed architectural firm Cambridge 7 Associates and will showcase Southwest Florida’s unique natural  ecosystems.

The state of the art facility will incorporate a world class public aquarium, aquatic exhibits and reptile habitats where visitors will meet fascinating creatures such as the American Alligator, Loggerhead Sea Turtles, Pine Snakes, Gopher Tortoises and more.  In addition to the public aquarium exhibits, exciting interactive and multimedia displays will engage and entertain visitors at the multi-million dollar facility.

The Conservancy of Southwest Florida’s has sought Living Color for their industry wide expertise in  creating completely turn-key public aquariums and realistic aquatic habitats.  All of the exhibit components for the new Discovery Center at  the Naples Nature Center’s landmark project will be built at Living Color’s 43,000 square foot manufacturing plant which is renowned  for building award-winning, turnkey aquariums and themed environments for discerning clients world wide.

While the Dalton Discovery Center and Wildlife Viewing Area remain closed during the Sustainable Campus Initiative, visitors can still enjoy expanded daily programs with themes that change monthly, a “mini” Nature Zone, Sensational Saturday Celebrations, the Nature Store and the narrated electric boat cruises to the Gordon River.

The “green” campus renovations also include the new Eaton Conservation Hall, Ferguson Learning Lab, von Arx Wildlife Clinic and Sugden Gomez Environmental Planning Center.  (www.conservancy.org/campaign)
