Pride Learning Center Grows Despite Economic Recession

May 11, 2011 - PRLog -- Pride Learning Center, which specializes in teaching school-age children reading, writing and spelling, announces the opening of its third location in Newport Beach, Ca.  

Pride Learning Center is designed for school-age children who are struggling with reading, writing, spelling and comprehension.  It is an afterschool program that students attend one to four days a week. The Pride Learning Center program is based on Orton-Gillingham research which uses the multisensory elements of listening, seeing, touching, and moving.  

“We opened this location strictly based on need.  We had scores of families driving to our El Segundo center from Orange County to send their children to our center,” states Karina Richland, Managing Director of Pride Learning Center.  “In addition, many families were unable to make the drive and so they couldn’t receive the benefits of our program.  By opening this new location, we are serving a large population of Orange County children that need our specialized services.”

In addition to the one-on-one lessons with a certified Pride teacher, the students also utilize the latest advances in computer based reading technology to enhance learned concepts through a familiar multi-media interface.  The Pride approach is unique in its ability to help students build lasting memories of learned concepts. Every child at Pride becomes an independent and confident reader!

“The Orange County school district is extremely accelerated and parents find their children struggle to keep up with the curriculum,” adds Ms. Richland.  “At Pride we offer a ‘Catch up and Get Ahead’ program so all children can feel confident and successful in the classroom.”
