For every person who test-drives a Ford or Lincoln vehicle at Bedford High School on May 14, Tri State Ford Lincoln and Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to Bedford High School. The funds will go towards a variety of booster clubs including the technology club and sports club. “The booster clubs are an important part of our community, as well as our high school,” said Todd Hill, president at Tri State Ford Lincoln. “We’re excited to offer a fun day of test drives to raise money for Bedford High School and support our young people.” The event, which will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., will feature the Ford Explorer, Focus, Fiesta, Edge, F-150, Mustang, Lincoln MKX, MKZ, MKT and other available models. Since the start of Ford’s Drive One 4 UR School program in 2007, more than 275,000 test-drives at more than 1,500 events have generated over $5 million in donations for high schools nationwide. Locally, Tri State Ford Lincoln participated in Ford’s Drive One 4 UR School program in 2009 and 2010 and raised over $18,000. In addition to raising much-needed revenue for high school extracurricular activities, the program gives participants the chance to experience Ford Motor Company’s exciting new vehicles and leading safety technologies, including: • MyKey™ • SYNC®, the fully integrated, in-vehicle voice-activated communications and entertainment system, updated with a “Do Not Disturb” button to block incoming calls and text messages and improved text message read-back capabilities so drivers can keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel; • Blind Spot Information System (BLIS™) with cross traffic alert, which uses radar to check the blind spot and helps notify the driver of approaching traffic when backing out of a parking spot; and, • Active Park Assist, a technology that helps drivers position the vehicle for parallel parking and then steer it into a parking spot without touching the steering wheel. • SmartGauge™ The 2012 Ford Focus, the company’s most significant global nameplate, delivers smart features, spirited performance and 40 mpg fuel economy packaged in modern, European-inspired design finishes. The all-new Focus Titanium model promises to appeal to drivers shifting from larger, premium vehicles looking for sporty handling; while the high-performance Focus ST with turbocharged, direct-injected EcoBoost™ power will get enthusiasts' hearts racing. With four powertrains— To participate, please visit Bedford High School between 9:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. on May 14. Participants must be 18 or older and have a valid driver’s license.
