Ali Pierre is on the verge of stardom. The Denver, CO-based singer/songwriter, who has shared stages with the likes of Timbaland and Jason Derulo, has co-written the club-friendly radio single for former American Idol winner Jordin Sparks’ forthcoming 19 Recordings/ RCA-Jive Records CD. “The song was written for my daughters because they will grow up to be Women in the world,” Pierre says of the song that he wrote with Josiah Dean and One Republic’s Ryan Tedder who’s also written or produced for Beyonce and Leona Lewis.
“It’s a tribute to the women in my life,” says Pierre. My mother-in-law was so strong after she lost her husband to cancer this year. I grew up with a single mother who beat breast cancer. My wife worked hard everyday to make sure she provided for her family and looking at a beautiful woman everyday made it easy to write this. All of them have helped influence who I am.” Sparks will perform the song live for the first time on the May 12th broadcast of Fox TV’s “American Idol”, which will air @ 8:00 p.m. EST.
The electrifying electronica rhythms of Ali Pierre as a solo artist are also heating up dance floors and flat screens across the globe. His latest track, “Live It Up” rocks Brazil’s biggest CD of the year, Summer Eletro Hits 7, alongside songs by Katy Perry, Ke$ha, David Guetta and Flo Rida. Videos of the song have clocked over 200,000 youtube hits and will soon go on sale at online portals such as iTunes and Amazon mp3.
Pierre’s pulsating beats have also blasted through MTV shows such as “The Real World,” “Taking The Stage” and “Hard Times of RJ Berger.” But, it’s not just an MTV phenomenon. His music has also been featured on cable TV programs like “Keeping Up with The Kardashians”
Pierre was born in Palma De Mallorca, a township in the Ibiza Islands (the worldwide Mecca for club music). Throughout his youth, his family resided in various countries such as France, England, Austria, and the United States.
The diverse residences gave Pierre a wide appreciation for different cultures and styles of music. By the age of nine, the family had resettled in Denver, Colorado where Pierre still resides and also where he was introduced to American pop culture and Hip-Hop beats. The “I Am Woman” single was born from that culture and is now racing up the charts. “It's all about the strengths that a woman has, how we can multitask and carry so much, yet still always be on point when we need to be and on cue when we need to be,” Sparks told AOL. “It's all about the amazingness of a woman.”
