May 10, 2011 - PRLog -- Pewaukee, Wis. – With more businesses than ever using the popular QuickBooks accounting software, a May 24 seminar at Jannsen + Company will explore many of its in-depth features to help companies maximize their efficiency and productivity.

“QuickBooks Advanced” will delve into many elements of QuickBooks that extend beyond “day to day” accounting tasks, and which often give users the most difficulty. The seminar is from 8 a.m. to noon at the Jannsen Center, W239-N3490 Pewaukee Road (southeast corner of Highway 164 and Capitol Drive). The cost is $25 per person.

“QuickBooks Advanced” will cover a wide range of topics:
•   Security and data transfer options
•   Using QuickBooks effectively - customizing a homepage, setting preferences, using class tracking and vehicle mileage
•   Cleaning up the chart of accounts and lists
•   Troubleshooting cash, receivables and payables
•   Running useful reports
•   Year-end procedures and 1099 preparation

“This seminar is perfect for those users or businesses who have been using QuickBooks for a while and understand the basics, but want to take it to the next level,” said Nicole Schmitz, a QuickBooks ProAdvisor with Jannsen + Company (http://www.jannsen.com) who will lead the seminar. “They know their way around QuickBooks and how to do daily tasks, but want to get more out of the features QuickBooks has to offer. Understanding these features can not only make daily accounting easier and more accurate, but also help with year-end reporting such as 1099 preparation.”

Schmitz’s ProAdvisor certification recognizes her expertise in working with businesses to customize QuickBooks for their specific needs, and to maximize usage of the Intuit software program. The holder of a master’s degree in professional accountancy, Schmitz is also a practicing accountant in the areas of audits and corporate taxes.

“QuickBooks can help save its users both time and money by keeping track of all business activity in one place,” Schmitz said. “It is user-friendly and can be tailored to fit a business’s needs. The financial reports that can be run and customized out of QuickBooks are a great tool for businesses to really see ‘where they’re at.’”

Reservations for “QuickBooks Fundamentals” are required, and can be made by contacting Ann Mazer at (262) 513-9292 or by e-mailing marketing@jannsen.com.
