Innovative test-drive event will yield much-needed money for booster club

Chesterfield, MO – Lou Fusz Ford is bringing Ford Motor Company’s innovative Drive One 4 UR School program to the Chesterfield community in an effort to raise up to $8,000 for John F. Kennedy Catholic High School. For every person who test-drives a Ford vehicle at John F. Kennedy Catholic High School on May 13, Lou Fusz Ford and Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to John F. Kennedy Catholic High School. Ford will also donate an additional $10 for a second test drive of the all new 2012 Ford Focus, up to an additional $2,000. The funds will be used to benefit the school’s booster club.

“It is important to continue to offer our young people extra-curricular and academic opportunities,” said Beth Walker of Lou Fusz Ford.  “We’re excited to help raise money for the booster club at John F. Kennedy Catholic High School by offering test drives in our latest vehicles and hope to see a strong show of support from the community as well.” The event, which will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M., will feature the Ford Explorer, Focus, Fiesta, Edge, F-150, Mustang and other available models.

Since the start of Ford’s Drive One 4 UR School program in 2007, more than 275,000 test-drives at more than 1,500 events have generated over $5 million in donations for high schools nationwide. Locally, this will be Lou Fusz Ford’s first Drive One 4 UR School event.

In addition to raising much-needed revenue for high school extracurricular activities, the program gives participants the chance to experience Ford Motor Company’s exciting new vehicles and leading safety technologies, including:

•   MyKey™, a system that allows parents to limit a vehicle’s top speed and audio volume to encourage safe driving behavior in teens;
•   SYNC®, the fully integrated, in-vehicle voice-activated communications and entertainment system, updated with a “Do Not Disturb” button to block incoming calls and text messages and improved text message read-back capabilities so drivers can keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel;
•   Blind Spot Information System (BLIS™) with cross traffic alert, which uses radar to check the blind spot and helps notify the driver of approaching traffic when backing out of a parking spot; and,
•   Active Park Assist, a technology that helps drivers position the vehicle for parallel parking and then steer it into a parking spot without touching the steering wheel.
•   SmartGauge™ with EcoGuide is a unique instrument cluster designed to give hybrid owners a more connected driving experience by coaching them to further maximize the fuel efficiency of their hybrid vehicle.

The 2012 Ford Focus, the company’s most significant global nameplate, delivers smart features, spirited performance and 40 mpg fuel economy packaged in modern, European-inspired design finishes. The all-new Focus Titanium model promises to appeal to drivers shifting from larger, premium vehicles looking for sporty handling; while the high-performance Focus ST with turbocharged, direct-injected EcoBoost™ power will get enthusiasts' hearts racing.

To participate, please visit John F. Kennedy Catholic High School between 10:00 A.M. and 10:00 P.M. on May 13. For further questions on this event please contact John F. Kennedy Catholic High School at 314-605-6148, 500 Woods Mill Road, Manchester, MO 63011.
