In vivo molecular imaging emerges as a pivotal tool that delivers significant time and cost reduction in the overall drug discovery and development process. Molecular imaging data supplies longitudinal information that is impossible to collect via traditional research methods. Nevertheless, it is a new and emerging technology, which requires large initial investment and high ongoing costs. Open information exchange is especially important to make molecular imaging utilization more comprehensive and cost-effective.
This conference is dedicated to the utilization of molecular imaging at different stages of the drug development process within various therapeutic areas. It aims to bring together end-users of cutting-edge pre-clinical imaging technologies and imaging specialists, and provide the opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues and opinion leaders, as well as gain insight into the latest technological advances in the area of in vivo molecular imaging.
Two professional societies are actively participating in the conference. The Academy of Molecular Imaging is represented by its president, Dr Juri Gelovani, whose keynote presentation will be focused on molecular imaging for selection and monitoring of therapies in oncology. The Society of Nuclear Medicine will be represented by its past president, Dr. Peter Conti, who will speak about molecular imaging in clinical trials.
In addition, we are proud to announce Keynote Speakers: Jeffrey Evelhoch, Ph.D., Vice President, Exploratory & Translational Sciences; Head, Imaging, Merck Research Laboratories and Juri G. Gelovani, M.D., Ph.D., President, Academy of Molecular Imaging; Professor and Chairman, Experimental Diagnostic Imaging; Director, Center for Advanced Biomedical Imaging Research, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center
Additional featured speakers include heads of imaging departments as well as their internal clients from the following organizations:
Abbott Laboratories
AstraZeneca R&D
BrainCells, Inc.
Bristol-Myers Squibb
Johnson & Johnson
Merck Research Laboratories
MIT
NCI/NIH
Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research, Inc.
