By: Business Mobile Advice Dave Carter managing director of Geko said it was a "very sad day," for the company, and was further saddened by the loss of jobs for the 85 employees who all have a months wages owed to them by Geko. Geko had operated in the midlands for nearly a decade and had offices based in Telford, Birmingham and Stoke and were very proud of their operation stating they had "a lot of happy customers," willing to lend. Lacey Webb, a spokeswoman for Geko advised that bosses had done all they could to prevent the company from going into administration. She added "We tried desperately to find investors to prevent the liquidation of Geko but were unable to find anyone to help "Geko will now be handed over to the administrators who are yet to be appointed." Geko's role in business was acting as a broker between businesses and phone operator Orange, they secured customer retention, and discounted deals on new handsets, Geko was a strong independent company who were due to celebrate their 10 year anniversary in September 2011.
