Sziget takes place on Budapest’s island of Óbuda, and is just a short walk or bus ride from many of Loving Budapest Apartments. The festival started in 1993, originally named Diáksziget (Students’ Island) and since then has grown to attract 50% of its crowd from all over the world.
Sziget is being held on the 8th – 15th August with 1,000 performances, across 60 stages and platforms. The likes of Amy Winehouse, Kasabian, La Roux, Manic Street Preachers, Pulp and Skunk Anansie have already been announced for this year’s line-up. Staying in a Budapest apartment will give you great access to enjoy both the festival and the history and culture Budapest has to offer.
