PRLog (Press Release) - May 9, 2011 - Sziget is Budapest’s alternative to Glastonbury, combining international music, sports, dance, theatre and film. Attracting around 400,000 visitors each year, Sziget was included in the top 10 at the European Festival Awards and was considered the ‘Top Festival’ by Songlines magazine.

Sziget takes place on Budapest’s island of Óbuda, and is just a short walk or bus ride from many of Loving Budapest Apartments. The festival started in 1993, originally named Diáksziget (Students’ Island) and since then has grown to attract 50% of its crowd from all over the world.

Sziget is being held on the 8th – 15th August with 1,000 performances, across 60 stages and platforms. The likes of Amy Winehouse, Kasabian, La Roux, Manic Street Preachers, Pulp and Skunk Anansie have already been announced for this year’s line-up.
