iPhone App QuikTap Words has a new look

May 14, 2011 - PRLog -- In its ongoing effort to produce fun and engaging educational apps KayKhosoft has completely revamped its QuikTap Words App. Feedback on the original release indicated that the game’s true focus of teaching the Dolsch Sight Vocabulary  was being distracted by forcing players to enter answers in a strict sequential order. This requirement has been removed and a summary of upgrades are as follows:

•   New Navigation buttons make it easier to move between screens
•   New game logic and display that give positive feedback based on word knowledge
•   Words displayed at the top get a green checkmark when answered correctly
•   Answers can be entered in any order
•   No longer requires answers to be entered in a strict sequence
•   Points awarded based on the number of correct answers
•   Settings allow player to adjust the number of words to be displayed

The core objective of teaching the Dolsch Sight Vocabulary for grades Pre-K through Grade 3 remains the same. These 200+ sight words make up 50-60% of all the words in a child’s school books and should be learned by sight as many cannot be sounded phonetically. Educators agree that kids who master these words by sight make better readers.
