Royal Oak Ford and Local Community to Raise as much as $6,000 for Royal Oak High School

Innovative test-drive event will yield much-needed money for music, drama, sports, and the PTA

May 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Royal Oak, MI – Royal Oak Ford is bringing Ford Motor Company’s innovative Drive One 4 UR School program to the Royal Oak community in an effort to raise up to $6,000 for Royal Oak High School. For every person who test-drives a Ford vehicle at Royal Oak High School on May 7, Royal Oak Ford and Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to Royal Oak High School. The funds will benefit music, drama, sports, and the PTA.  The event will also feature a bake sale, cookout, and a performance by the marching band.

“We know how important extracurricular activities are to our high school students, and as part of this community, we want to help,” said Mike McKenzie, General Sales Manager at Royal Oak Ford. “This is why we’re excited to raise money for Royal Oak High School, meanwhile introducing parents, teenagers and other drivers to our high-quality lineup and innovative safety technologies.” The event, which will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., will feature the New Ford Explorer, 2012 Focus, Fiesta, Redesigned Edge, F-150, Mustang, Taurus, Escape, Flex and Fusion.

Since the start of Ford’s Drive One 4 UR School program in 2007, more than 275,000 test-drives at more than 1,500 events have generated over $5 million in donations for high schools nationwide. Locally, Royal Oak Ford is participating in their first Ford Drive One 4 UR School event and is excited to raise up to $6,000 for Royal Oak High School.

To participate, please visit Royal Oak High School between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on May 7.

Participants must be 18 or older and have a valid driver’s license. There is a limit of one test-drive per household.
