JM Family Enterprises Donates $100,000 to Storm and Tornado Relief Efforts in Alabama

May 5, 2011 - PRLog -- Deerfield Beach, Fla. – Colin Brown, President and CEO of diversified automotive company JM Family Enterprises, Inc., announced a donation of $100,000 to the American Red Cross to support disaster relief efforts in Alabama following the devastating storms and tornadoes.  

“We recognize the extreme circumstances thousands of people in Alabama and across the South are facing after this tragedy,” said Brown. “Responding to our communities in times of crisis is a part of who we are, and we hope our contribution can provide the emergency care and resources needed to help these communities rebuild.”

The company chose the American Red Cross for its contribution because it has the network of volunteers and disaster relief specialists to effectively address urgent needs and establish the foundation for a long-term recovery.  JM Family’s subsidiary, World Omni Financial Corp., which has a significant business presence in Mobile, Ala., was not impacted by the storms.  JM Family is also the parent company of Southeast Toyota Distributors, the world’s largest private distributor of Toyota vehicles.  The company distributes vehicles, parts and accessories to 173 independent Toyota dealers in the five southeastern states, including 21 dealers in Alabama.  Toyota dealers in the region sustained only very minor or no damage to their facilities.
