May 5, 2011 - PRLog -- Spills and stains happen to everyone, but that is no reason to fret over them. Edmond Hyundai has some tips and tricks on how to get your stains out of your cloth seats so you don’t have to worry about them anymore! Plus, you really don't want want stains on your beautiful Hyundai vehicles.

Hey, it happens to everyone your driving down the highway you have to swerve for whatever reason and there goes your drink falling out of your hand onto the passenger seats spilling soda all over or you have a passenger who isn’t feeling too good and doesn’t have a vomit bag. We are sure some sort of spill or stain has happened to everyone out there driving, and, if not, it could happen to you in the future.

Edmond Hyundai has some tips to get your seats up to the condition they were in when you first bought your car off the showroom floor:

Food & Beverages Stains

In order to remove those sticky beverage spills or food spill you first want to blot the spill. Then you want to apply a small amount of cloth upholstery cleaner (you can get this at any local auto parts stores, Walmart or Target). Allow for the cleaner to set for a few minutes. Next, you will want to scrub the stain gently with a brush (like a toothbrush), then wipe the area with a cloth. Repeat this process until stain is completely removed.

Crayon Stains

You have kids and they are messy. They draw on everything. No biggie! For crayon marks, scrape off as much excess crayon particles as possible with a spoon or dull knife. Then brush the stain off with a liquid dishwashing detergent. Next, wipe the remaining stain with a damp sponge. Repeat this process until stain is completely removed.

Ink Stains

As unpleasant ink stains are and as hard as it is to remove them, they can be removed! First, DO NOT rub the fresh ink spill – it will smear and spread even more. You want to treat the ink stains with hairspray. Spray the hairspray on and allow it a few minutes to absorb. Next wipe the spot using dry towels. Make sure to repeat this process until the stain is completely gone.

Cosmetic Stains

Hey, it happens. You might not know if you have accidently gotten some of your lipstick on the seats, but that is no reason to be upset. Lipstick stains are simple to remove. All you have to do it gently rub the soiled area with a non-gel white toothpaste and wipe clean with a damp cloth! Repeat process until lipstick stain is gone then, like magic, no more lipstick stain.

Removing odorous smells

Using peroxide with detergents not only removes the blemish but also the odor. You can also use citrus scent cleaners to deodorize your cloth car seat covers. Another proven technique in treating stains is lemon zest- baking soda- warm water mix. Spray the liquid mixture to the stained car seats and let dry for up to 24 hours before rinsing.
