In a country where cricket and cinema are religions, coming up with a movie when India is just 1 step F.A.L.T.Uaway from holding the cup calls for guts. Agreed there will be a vagueness after Saturday that cinema would fulfill but then, when the spirits are high and the adrenaline rush at the greatest, coming up with a faltu movie calls for double guts, for once disappointed, audience today hardly gives a second chance. But looks like this “F.A.L.T. U” has a sort-of bright future, the key words being “sort-of”! From the cap of the ace choreographer Remo D’Souza, “F.A.L.T. U” is his first hand at a Bollywood movie as a director. He does not try to tread the unexplored path, instead channelizes all his energies to produce a full-on masala flick. And does he succeed? Well, fairly yes, for “F.A.L.T. U” is an out-an-out entertaining movie made especially for the young guns.
The concept is a facsimile (the word ‘inspired’
would be belittling) of Justin Long’s comedy “Accepted”

, a slacker who isn’t accepted in any college creates his own by the name South Harmon Institute of Technology or S.H.I.T.) Too much of a co-incidence, isn’t it? Like mentioned earlier, “F.A.L.T.U”
is purely meant to entertain. One should not look for reasons and logic behind anything that happens – anything, you ask? Yes, anything! Imagine meeting the life and blood version of Google! No kidding, for “F.A.L.T.U”
does have a man named Google, played by Arshad Warsi. Justifying his name, this Google baba does sort out all queries and problem of the youngsters. Wish you had one in real life too?
To add to the unreservedly bizarre things that are already happening, the friends somehow manage to raise money to set up a University in a single day. Furthermore, they manage to find a huge mansion, renovate it, get the furniture, fund the accommodation, food and booze of the students - all in merely 24 hours. Wish things were half as easy as this in real life too! But then we said, don’t look for logic here. Just enjoy the ambience and the feel of campus. Though “F.A.L.T.U”
would give you a seen-this-done-
that feel, not at any moment does it get to your nerves. What starts as a fun, rollicking movie graduates towards a serious note - importance of alternative education being the high point.
In terms of music, “F.A.L.T.U”
hits a jackpot. Generally, movies today crave for one chartbuster at least, but “F.A.L.T.U”
gets four right. While ‘Chaar Baj Gaye’ and ‘Fully Faltu’ have become the anthem of the youth, ‘Bhoot Aaya’, and ‘Le Ja Tu Mujhe’ only prove the ability of young music composers Sachin-Jigar. The choreography of the songs is also top notch, what with Remo making not one wrong move. As for the acting, Jackky tries to be a charming cool dude, but succeeds only half way through. Both Arshad Warsi and Ritiesh Deshmukh are hilarious. All in all, “F.A.L.T.U”
is a typical Bollywood flick on college goers with masti and mazza being the prime themes. Nothing exceptional about it!
Final verdict: Categorically, F.A.L.T.U is not absolutely faltu, but go for it only before or after the cricket match!

Vashu Bhagnani, renowned for delivering super-duper hits like ‘Biwi No.1’ and ‘Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein’, is back again with yet another romantic comedy titled ‘F.A.L.T.U’
. The movie forms a platform to re-launch his son Jackky Bhagnani, after the latter’s debut ‘Kal Kissne Dekha’ turned out to be a major dud on the box-office. This rom-com marks the debut of choreographer-
turned-director Remo D’Souza as a director, apart from former Miss India-World Pooja Gupta as the female lead. ‘F.A.L.T.U’
has been produced by Vashu Bhagnani under the banner of Puja Entertainment (India) Ltd. The lyrics have been penned by legendary Gulzar, while the energetic music has been composed by Sachin-Jigar of the ‘Life Partner’ fame. ‘F.A.L.T.U’
is set to release on April 1, 2011.
‘F.A.L.T.U’
is a gen-nex movie revolving around a group of youngsters of today who wish to create a different platform rather than following the traditional paths to accomplish their goals. Ritesh (Jackky Bhagnani), Puja (Pooja Gupta), Nanj (Angad Bedi), and Vishnu (Chandan Roy Sanyal) are four fun-loving friends who spend their life doing numerous “fully faltu” stuff. All that their life talks about is drinking, dancing, dating, and everything possible to live life to the fullest, but not studying. So, while the lecture halls are silent and empty, all thanks to these guys, the clubs of the town are fully loaded with excitement and fervor. All is well until they land themselves in a situation that demands monitoring the destinies of several other students.
What is this responsibility and how do they handle this situation? Will they succeed in fulfilling the demands dedicatedly?
Watch out for the unique and unusual ways that these youngsters find, to complete their tasks rather than stepping onto the age-old methods. The light and breezy trailers have already found success in connecting with the young audience. With a number of distinguished celebrities, like Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, and Salman Khan, playing cameo roles in this flick, will they add to the glamour quotient of ‘F.A.L.T.U’
and make it a hit is to watch out for. Will they help the new comer duo Jackky-Pooja have a larger-than-
life platform? For answering all of the above, we need to wait until 1st April, 2011 when ‘F.A.L.T.U’
hits the silver screen and see whether Remo D’Souza fruitfully proves his directorial skills or not.
