Follow on Google News | Washington State Convention Center extends contract with Smart City Networks for technology servicesContract extends 10-year relationship for event technology services
Since 2001, CCPI has provided the event technology services, including telecommunications, data and Internet services, at the Washington State Convention Center. “We are proud of our partnership with the Washington State Convention Center and look forward to continuing to provide the facility with its telecommunication and Internet services,” said Mark Haley, president of Smart City Networks. “The WSCC hosts the technology industry’s best and brightest regularly, and we understand how important it is for the center to successfully meet their growing technology needs.” Smart City will upgrade the WSCC’s circuitry, retaining one dual OC3 circuit as a backup and implementing a new Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) circuit, to increase the available bandwidth and better accommodate more users and devices while also mirroring the technically advanced systems of the WSCC’s new addition, The Conference Center. With these upgrades the center’s infrastructure will be capable of delivering faster Internet speeds, up to 1 gigabit per second at any location, minimizing download times and increasing connection speeds. Smart City is also upgrading the center’s Avaya phone system to ensure the latest features are available. Jim Snook, Smart City’s general manager at the WSCC, added that, “Seattle has been at the technical forefront for many years, and the events we host frequently require extensive networking services. Few centers can exceed the amount of technology that we provide to our guests.” “The Washington State Convention Center is pleased to extend our operating agreement with Smart City. We have had a very good and productive working relationship, and we are pleased with the service that Smart City provides to our clients,” stated John Christison, president and CEO of the Washington State Convention Center. Using the latest technology, Smart City will continue to provide the WSCC with high-speed Internet access using Ethernet protocols as well as offering turnkey data networking services, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs) and private networks. # # # Founded in 1984, Smart City Networks is the nation’s largest provider of event technology in the convention industry.
