The Georgia based online college will seek monetary pledges and donations for the Marcus Autism Center. Members of the school’s administration and staff plan to participate in the May 22, 2011 Walk which begins in Atlanta’s International Plaza, part of Centennial Olympic Park.
“This is for a great cause and if we get at least 100 people to donate $5 from our company, friends and family, we can definitely reach our goal. Of course we look forward to raising a whole lot more!” said Cerise Lake, Ashworth’s Human Resource Administrator.
In the weeks leading up to the walk Lake said that the Ashworthy Causes team will begin fundraising with “Waffle Fridays,” where employees can purchase breakfast and beverages for a $5 donation.
“The Ashworthy Causes program gives Ashworth College an opportunity to get involved in our community by giving back and helping others overcome the challenges of life” says Gary Keisling, President of Ashworth College.
Although Ashworth College is known as a leading provider of nationally accredited online education programs including a wide range of health care diploma and degree programs, Ashworth prides itself in its community outreach endeavors and regularly supports several organizations to include Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the Atlanta Community Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, the American Cancer Society, The Salvation Army and The March of Dimes.
