Digital Ad Agency BMI Elite Donates to Lacrosse Tournament Benefiting Michael Stolzenberg Trust

May 4, 2011 - PRLog -- Delray Beach, FLORIDA -- Digital advertising agency BMI Elite announced Monday that the company is donating $1000.00 to support the local community lacrosse tournament Pockets & Sockets. Donations and proceeds from Pockets & Sockets benefit the Michael Stolzenberg Rehabilitative Trust, supporting Michael Stolzenberg, 11, a South Florida native who lost both his hands and feet to a bacterial infection when bitten by a bug during the summer of 2008. After having gone into shock, Michael was rushed to the hospital where doctors thought the boy, only 8 years old at the time, would likely die from the bite’s resulting infection. Michael spent seven weeks in intensive care recovering from the amputations necessary to save his life.

A Miami Heat fan and avid sports player, Michael became acquainted with Heat star Dwyane Wade who presented Michael during a Heat game with a signed jersey to add to his already extensive sports memorabilia collection. BMI Elite CEO Brandon Rosen met Michael while attending a Heat game and was so impressed with his courage and perseverance that Rosen decided to sponsor Pockets & Sockets, the lacrosse tournament benefiting Michael’s ongoing rehabilitation.

The Michael Stolzenberg Rehabilitative Trust was established to help this remarkable boy continue to be fully independent, not only by fitting him with the newest prosthetics available, but with the long term goal of paying for an innovative new surgical double hand transplant procedure which requires hours of post-operation occupational therapy not covered by insurance.
