May 3, 2011 - PRLog -- On Thursday, May 5th, 2011, Embracing Arms, Supporting Our Sisters, Newark Now and Newark Screens will present free screenings of the short film “War For Your Soul” at 12:00pm and 6:00pm at Newark Screens.  Embracing Arms, Supporting Our Sisters, and Newark Now collaborated on bringing  “A War For Your Soul” to Newark to inspire and shed light on the issues of at-risk African American youth.

"War for Your Soul is a must see film, it shows a new perspective on an existing problem in our society.  People don't know who they are.  War for your Soul, gives history and insight that's relevant to our times", says Towanda McEachern, Founder/Executive Director of Supporting Our Sisters.

An exclusive screening at 12:00pm will be held for Marion P. Thomas Charter School (MPTCS), which ranges from 5th to 8th grades. “We chose MPTCS as the sponsored school for several reasons, my children attend the school and I think this is a film that our youth need to see. Also MPTCS is active in the community and they are willing to work with the community to help make a difference in the lives of our children through programs such as this”, says Latrice Smith, Executive Director of Embracing Arms.

A Q&A session with “War For Your Soul” filmmaker and public speaker Reggie Bullock will follow the screenings. Mr. Bullock will discuss the film and its impact on the young African American community and provide complimentary copies of the short film for all guests.
