Follow on Google News | Pop-Artist Sean D'Anconia to launch new paintings at LAB ART, Nation's Largest Street Art GalleryCanadian Pop-Artist Sean D'Anconia will launch several new mixed-media paintings at the May 12th grand opening event of the nation's largest Street Art gallery - LAB ART, located at 217 S. La Brea Avenue, in Los Angeles.
By: Sho Yabuki His new series of mixed-media paintings, including a highly anticipated Marilyn Monroe original, will be launched at the grand opening of LAB ART as part of a wide-ranging exhibition bringing together works from across a variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, drawings, photography and installations. Curated under the watchful eye of former fashion designer Iskander Lemseffer, LAB ART's collection showcases a movement that will deservedly make its mark in contemporary art history. The grand opening debuts a massive exhibition by some of the most notorious artists including celebrity favorites: Alec Monopoly, famous for his paradoxical spins of the Monopoly man, and D'Anconia, whose virtual universe called "Majestyland" Other highlights include the gallery bar‐top painted by urban muralist Gregory Siff—nown for his 6th Street Mural at The Standard Downtown, and a life‐size cow statue titled "Cheshire Cow" created by artist Rabi and inspired by the Cheshire Cat. LAB ART's official launch lithograph, designed by D'Anconia, marks the gallery's opening and features a collage of the various contributor's works. D'Anconia, along with the other artists, will be attending the private party held on May 12th, 2011. LAB ART is open to the public on May 13th, 2011 from 11am to 7pm.
