May 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Kalorama Information’s survey of labs using DNA Sequencing equipment has found that owners of some brand sequencers are more likely to update.

2nd generation systems have been gradually upgraded, for example the 454 GS 20 was not found at all in labs surveyed, and the Illumina Genome Analyzers are almost all GA IIx with only a couple of GA II found in the respondents’ labs.  The SOLiD, on the other hand, has been slightly behind in that regard, and customers are reporting that they still have the older versions.  20% of customers still had a 3 or 3+ SOLID sequencer.  This according to Kalorama Information’s “DNA Sequencing Market Trends (Kalorama Survey of Labs Using Next-Gen and Capillary Systems)” http://www.kaloramainformation.com/Generation-Sequencing-Survey-2657156/.
