May 1, 2011 - PRLog -- Young flutist, Catherine Branch (http://kck.st/ezFhEy), knows what it is like to live with disability.  She has Diplegic Cerebral Palsy.  But has that stopped her?  NO!  Quite the opposite.  She is an inspiration to everyone she meets, whether through her studies at the Eastman School of Music or traveling the world using music as a catalyst for conversations and an instigator of positive change.

In her latest remarkable project, she videotaped herself and commissioned Boston composer Robert J. Bradshaw (http://www.robertjbradshaw.com) to translate her movements into music.  He carefully plotted each movement her body made, as she walked, employing various computer applications and then used the resulting rhythms to create a beautiful concerto (Concerto No. 2 "for Catherine") which she has performed around the world from Australia to the The Kennedy Center 2010 International VSA Festival.

It is time that America woke up and paid attention to their friends and neighbors living with disability.  And if Catherine has anything to say about it, they will in the most beautiful and genuine way - by making music together.
