New Chapter of Dream Factory Wish Granting Organization Forming in Nashville

April 30, 2011 - PRLog -- Individuals who are interested in volunteering their time and talents to establish a chapter of The Dream Factory, Inc., a national wish-granting organization for critically ill children, are invited to attend an organizational meeting on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.

The Dream Factory, which is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, was founded in 1980 to grant dreams for children who are between the ages of 3 and 18 years, granting over 25,000 dreams since its inception. The organization utilizes a network of local volunteers to grant dreams for children who reside in their respective communities. There are 38 chapters with over 5000 dedicated volunteers nationwide.

According to Cara Ryckman, children from a 50 mile radius of Nashville will be served by the newly-formed chapter. Individuals and well as representatives of businesses, the medical community, social service agencies and civic groups are welcome to attend this organizational meeting.

Cara decided to bring the Dream Factory to Middle Tennessee after she heard that Dream Factory serves not only critically ill children, but chronically ill as well.  She was excited to find that 92% of money raised by our chapter will stay WITH our chapter to grant dreams of children here in the Nashville area; only 8% goes to the national headquarters.
