Tha Carter IV Another Setback – Lil Wayne’s Time Line of Decay

April 30, 2011 - PRLog -- Tha Carter IV from Lil Wayne is highly anticipated.  The Grammy award winning Rapper and current hip hop mogul has suffered another setback in getting Tha Carter IV released.  Maybe the delays were suffered due to the laughter at the cute schoolboy cover of the album.  This issue has not been reserved for Lil Wayne’s albums but seems to be a common issue for the label itself.  All the fans of Lil Wayne can remember the previous volume of Tha Carter series was pushed back numerous times, also.  Do not count on the announced June 21st date as being written in stone, view it as a movable target date which hopefully will happen.

Tha Carter IV Delays Started Long Ago
While this latest delay is catching all of the news, how many remember the first announcement of delay.  Back in September of 2010 it was announced the current tracks planned for Tha Carter IV would be scrapped and replaced after his November release from jail.  This started an amazing spiral of delays which hopefully is winding down.  

The next announcements out of Lil Wayne’s camp came in January.  When the production team was excited as they were pushing close to “the finish line”.  This finish line obviously encountered an unmovable brick wall.  At the time of those announcements they made it clear the album needed two additional songs to fill it out, but now over 3 months later we are still waiting.  As all artists know, it is time to get on with the show.  Lil Wayne will make it happen; it is just a matter of when.

The Leaks Which Make Release Appear Imminent
The good news from the Lil Wayne team is all the leaks which keep popping out.  These leaks make it very obvious the album is closing in on release.  

One of the latest announcements came from Yung Berg who has announced he produced a Lil Wayne and Rick Ross collaboration for Tha Carter IV.  Lil Wayne is notorious for including a wide range of other current hip hop stars on his releases and this announcement of buddy Rick Ross joining the effort is no surprise.

A few of the other anticipated stars participating in the project include Birdman, Nicki Minaj, Cory Gunz, Kanye West, The Game, Eminem, Jay-Z, and Drake.  These names have been lifted from the leaked track list for the album.  Do not be shocked to find some of these tracks disappear and other new ones appear before final release.

The track list could be completely fabricated, but if it is even close on the stars working with Lil Wayne this album is set to set the hip hop world on fire again.  The wait will be well worth it.

The Strange Twists of Superstar Lil Wayne
Lil Wayne is facing his own series of out of country travel issues, similar to the recent challenges of The Game as he tried to enter Canada.  Lil Wayne in early April was denied his visa for touring in Europe.  It will be interesting to watch the Tha Carter IV hits the market in Europe if the lack of a tour affects sales.
