April 28, 2011 - PRLog -- Port Richey, Florida, April 28, 2011   Dani Schaeffer and her husband Shane, had had enough with her oldest son at the dinner table. He plain wouldn’t eat anything but chicken nuggets and french fries. No matter how hard she tried to coax him to try different foods, he wouldn’t budge from his favorite meal.
“When my five-year-old was weighing in at 60 pounds and had rolls like the Michelin baby I knew it was time to make a change,” Schaeffer said. After searching for tips and tricks online, she created her own family game of eating different foods to coax her children to eat more nutritional foods.
“When I told my fussy eater that we were going to play a game at dinner time, my son’s eyes lit up with excitement!” Schaeffer said. Studies prove when children are involved in the planning and preparation of meals they are more eager to eat the dishes they help create.
Schaeffer  later branded her game “Two Bites” after having her children take at least two bites out of each food group served at meals. The reward was getting to choose different foods and receiving desert for trying new foods, even if they didn’t like the new food after two bites. Schaeffer said most times her children ate the whole meal after the two bites because they found that they liked it after all.
“This is a great way to save a ton of money by not making two, three or four more separate meals- You don’t have to buy separate foods for each person ever again!” Schaeffer said.
And now Two Bites has caught appeal among parents and day care providers:
"We tested this at our daycare center with our fussiest eaters, and the next day, all the parents wanted to know where they could get this amazing game their kids told them about! " said Shannon Clever.

"We home school our kids and this game has become part of our education program. We not only enjoy family fun dinner time with it, we get our homework done and it's a good time doing it,” said Ed Kurlinski.

Schaeffer is seeking out backers through a unique fundraising model called 'crowdfunding' on the famous, Kickstarter.com website.  Now you can help children develop healthy eating habits that combine play and family time with health and nutrition by supporting Two Bites on the crowd funding site Kickstarter. You can check out Two Bites on their official website or on their Facebook Fan Page and show your support for healthy nutrition for kids!
