WAAODA dedicates one day of their annual conference to build partnerships empowering youth to live a drug free life. The 4th Annual WAAODA Spring Youth Conference themed “Family, School and Community: Building Partnerships to Empower Our Youth to Live a Drug Free Life”  will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2011 Country Springs Hotel, Water Park and Conference Center at 2810 Golf Road Waukesha, WI.

This year’s “Youth Day” will feature Ron Glodoski a national expert on bullying, substance abuse and resiliency. His personal triumph over abuse issues, a traumatic brain injury and learning disabilities provides practical solutions to the challenges confronting our youth today.

There will also be a luncheon cook out featuring Club TNT (Today Not Tomorrow) who creatively reaches young people, ages 10-18, with the use of music, dance, poetry and “straight talk.” Show producers encourage and stimulate the creative energy of participants as they develop public service announcements that confront the issues of gang involvement, smoking, alcohol and other drug abuse, teen pregnancy, adolescent suicide awareness and prevention and the negative impact of a life of crime. Kids will present Public Service Announcements.
