Music for Special Needs - Trabasack and Skoog

April 28, 2011 - PRLog -- We are very pleased that we will be doing some co-promotions with SkoogMusic who make the incredible accessible musical instrument, Skoog.

Skoog and Trabasack work very well together and they help children with disabilities enjoy making music. Skoog is a soft cube that you can play music upon. It has some sophisticated software behind it to turn the pressing and squeezing of the soft foam cube into music.

The co-creator of Skoog, Ben Schogler has a background in music and working with children with learning disabilities. He has a real passion for Skoog and helping children participate in music.

Everyone enjoys music and if you can be part of it, that is even better, it is a great form of therapy. Creative expression is something that everyone benefits from and children with special needs should be able to join in with music education and music lessons. The Skoog is very versatile, you can assign different notes to the sides of the cube, adjust how hard or softly it needs to be pressed, make it create different musical instrument sounds and even join in with pre-recorded tracks. We love the funky colours, design and it’s ‘access for all’ appeal. It is a truly accessible musical instrument.

The trabasack is helpful as it provides a comfortable mount for the Skoog that can be attached to a childs waist or buggy with straps. The velcro receptive surface can be used to hold the Skoog in one place if needed, or just provide a soft but firm surface to play on.

Trabasack will soon be available as part of a bundle of goodies that you get when you buy a Skoog. We are really thrilled about this and hope that there will soon be a Skoog available for children in every school and in many homes across the country.
