April 28, 2011 - PRLog -- Corporations around the world are expanding across international geographies with impeccable speed. Although everyone is well acquainted with the initial hiccups that some top-notch brands had to face when outsourcing had just started and they endeavored to penetrate a new geography in dearth of adequate knowledge about the client-vendor relationship management.

It’s hard to believe that buyer’s and outsourcing service provider’s relationship can continue without any conflict over a considerable span of time. Some people see it as a conventional match-making model; however, it can sometimes go over the board and turn unpleasant. Since in this kind of scenario, a business decision made by one directly impacts the wallet of the other, it’s really hard to avoid conflicts.

Now it depends on the way these conflicts are handled that ultimately decides the fate of customer—vendor relationship. Although most organizations try to be on the safer side from the very start of the relationship; however, conflicts are inevitable and soon a situation like ‘highly upset with you’ may surface. Now it’s important to find a way out if such conflict creeps in.

There are two schools of thought here. Some say it’s crucial to protect this relationship from the very start, while some others are of the opinion that both client and vendor must try to comprehend each other’s business challenges and then find out some shared interest. However, what appeals to be more rational is that the client-vendor relationship must be protected and nurtured for sustained growth, which entails more than mere understanding of business challenges faced by each other.

Now, the other question that may come to you mind at this juncture is—How to protect relationship with your outsourcing company? Well, to accomplish this task, you need to keep a hawk’s eye on the day-to-day business terms and keep them going strong.

The other way is to leverage the best out of relationship with effective communication and other channels. Also, it’s important that you have ample occasions to celebrate your mutual relationship; not just the profits or the victories. It’s vital to keep your outsourcing consultants happy and the best way is to show that you care for them.

See, it’s paramount to protect relationship with your outsourcing company as in the worst case scenario when you land up in a conflict with your vendor, you can end up wasting a lot of your precious time and energy in settling those differences.
