What makes a royal smile?
Is it complemented by a glean in the eye, physical beauty, self-confidence, appreciation of the moment, or something that lies deeper within? As we head from spring into summer and our calendars become flooded with proms, weddings, graduations and barbecues -- we took a poll to see if we could capture the essence of a royal smile.
"What makes a royal smile, are the same things I suspect that make everyone else smile," says John Varriano (http://www.jvarrianoartist.com), New York based artist and part-time bartender at the Four Seasons restaurant. "Love, humor, and happiness are all catalysts for a smile. But as an artist who has painted, and a bartender who has served many of society's most affluent and influential people, I can point to few other factors as well. A job well done, common courtesy, a stiff drink, and an occasional caustic wit do wonders in making people smile. So I recommend that you surround yourself with beauty, have a nice cocktail and keep smiling."
According to Dr. Jared Shore (http://www.drjaredshore.com/
Shari Levine, CEO of JBS Ltd, a women's dress company in Manhattan and mother of three, believes that a royal smile is the inner you bubbling over. "It's the smile that comes from seeing that my children are healthy and happy, knowing that business is in a good place and reveling in the notion that at this moment life is good," says Levine. "There can never be too many royal smiles."
“To me, a royal smile comes from the reflection of others. It is when your inner goodness is felt by the world so it is compelled to smile back. There can be much sadness in the world so when you get an opportunity to smile or can try and make someone else smile-grab it. It's like food for your soul-It keeps you going.” Vicki B. - Social Worker for over 30 years and Manhattan resident.
