Have A Tryst With Healthy Eating at Phoenix Restaurant

Cafe Makes Healthy Eating More Delicious Than Ever; Provides Organic, Local and Extensive Gluten-Free Fare

April 26, 2011 - PRLog -- PHOENIX, Arizona  — According to the dictionary, a "tryst" can be a little bit sinful. The dictionary defines a tryst as a meeting, most often between lovers.

So how do you turn a tryst in something healthy? The chefs and staff at the new Tryst Cafe in north Phoenix have a few ideas.

They've developed a menu that combines sinful flavors with some of the healthiest dining around, including organic, locally grown, antibiotic/hormone free and even gluten-free food and drink. The end result is one of the most comprehensively "pure food" — and delicious — dining experiences in the Phoenix metro area.

Tryst Cafe opened in late 2010 across from Desert Ridge Marketplace in north Phoenix, and has quickly become not only a neighborhood favorite but a real draw for people throughout the Valley who want to enjoy delicious yet local and farm-to-table cuisine.

"We wanted to create a dining experience that offers the best of both worlds — an enjoyable and diverse menu combined with the kind of health-conscious approach that so many people are looking for these days," said Lisa Khnanisho, Co-Owner of Tryst Cafe. "We also wanted to create a contemporary urban environment with great energy which people can come back to again and again for breakfast, lunch or dinner."

Tryst Cafe combines a unique and seasonal menu featuring such delectable dishes as a Hawaiian breakfast, traditional and gluten-free pancakes and waffles, and the hearty "Bring It On Burger." On the lighter side, dishes include the Fresh Seared Ahi Tuna Salad or Desert Ridge Spring Rolls, you can choose from several sandwiches made from hormone-free beef and natural or organically grown vegetables, and entrees range from a beef filet to shrimp pasta.

The delectable desserts are house-made, and the seasonal bread pudding is not to be missed.  Accompany your meal with organic, fresh squeezed orange juice or choose from a selection of organic beers, wines and spirits. The restaurant itself is contemporary and offers a warm, hospitable atmosphere, and patrons can dine at the bar, indoors or on the patio.  Tryst Cafe features friendly, knowledgeable staff members who take pride in showing the menu and offering accommodating suggestions.

"Our customers have been very pleased with the flavorful cuisine weíve created," Khnanisho said. "We're very proud of our menu and the restaurant as a whole, and hope we can share it with as many people as possible in the coming years."

Tryst Cafe is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with hours from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week. It also features one of the best happy hours in the Valley — EVERYTHING on the food and drink menu is half price from 3 to 6 p.m. It is located at 21050 N. Tatum Boulevard in Phoenix.

Tryst Cafe is one of several restaurants owned by the Khnanishos. They also started Sami's Gyros in Tempe and just opened Mama Gina's Pizzeria in Glendale's Westgate.
