Follow on Google News | Gillette Resident Named Mrs. Wyoming InternationalErika Christensen, 28, of Gillette was crowned Mrs. Wyoming International this month and will go on to compete for the title of Mrs. Internaitonal 2011 during the final competition in Chicago, July 19-23, 2011.

Christensen is the COO of MC Family of Companies, a real estate development company, and an active community volunteer, most recently serving as the vice chair of The Donkey Creek Arts Festival in Gillette. During her reign as Mrs. Wyoming International, she will support and promote her platform, The American Heart Association’ “As Mrs. Wyoming International, I plan to encourage the awareness of heart disease in women and help to save the lives of the mothers, daughters, sisters and wives we love,” said Christensen. “Heart disease is the number one killer of women and I will work to educate them about their risk for heat disease and how to take action to reduce it. I want all women to have the tools they need to live a heart-healthy life.” In addition to each contestant’s charitable platform, International Pageants, Inc. also supports the American Heart Association’ The Mrs. International Pageant is owned and operated by International Pageants, Inc., which also operates Miss International and Miss Teen International pageants. It is the only platform-based pageant system dedicated to highlighting women’s accomplishments through community support.
