ATLANTA, GA- In an era where social media relationships are the norm, many users are seeking discreet applications for connecting with potential romantic partners. My Secret Crush is a new iPhone application for Facebook designed to ease this modern dating dilemma.
My Secret Crush allows users to scroll though Facebook friends and select one person on whom they have a crush. The app then cross-references the user's "friends list", and if the user's crush has likewise chosen the user, both people will get an email notification of the match. "If the object of your desire doesn't have a crush on you, don't worry!" promises the app. “He or she will never find out”.
My Secret Crush operates though Facebook's open platform for third party developers. Though other similar dating apps exist, My Secret Crush is the only one that guarantees absolute secrecy for both the user and the user's romantic interest.
In the wake of some failed applications wherein multiple selections were permitted, My Secret Crush allows only one potential romantic interest to be selected at any given time. My Secret Crush co-creator, Sam Adams stated, “We hope this will both eliminate the cyber-stalker factor inherent in older dating apps, as well as keep the activity classy. This is not another "hook-up" app” According to Adams, an Android version is already in the works.
My Secret Crush is available for purchase through the Apple iPhone App Store for $0.99 beginning April 26, 2011
