PRLog (Press Release) - Apr. 25, 2011 - New York, NY (April 25, 2011) – Sean Mayberry has been appointed as the new CEO of FXB International, effective immediately. Mayberry has over twenty years of global management experience in the government, private, and non-profit sectors. He has lived and worked in the developing world for more than a decade and has extensive experience delivering health products and services to the poorest communities in some of the most remote areas of the world.

FXB’s programs have been providing families with the tools to escape poverty for more than 20 years, and Mayberry is enthusiastic about continuing to scale up the FXB model to help more families and communities.

“I am thrilled to be joining the FXB team during such an exciting time full of opportunities for new growth and expansion.  I am greatly inspired by FXB’s program model and the organization’s history. Furthermore, I am moved by the support and interest FXB has received from partners, donors, and followers,” said Mayberry.

“Looking forward, I am excited to partner with the best and brightest in order to advance the FXB model. With the continued support of FXB’s network and by engaging others committed to improving conditions for the world’s vulnerable children and their families, I will strive to grow FXB’s programs in order to help more families overcome the effects of poverty and AIDS.”

Mayberry was previously the Chief Operating Officer for VisionSpring, a social enterprise which provides affordable eyeglasses to low-income populations in Africa and Asia, and the Country Director for India at Population Services International (PSI), a leading global health and social marketing organization. Mayberry has also worked in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), the Republic of Congo, the Philippines, and Kenya.

As CEO, Mayberry will provide leadership and direction to FXB International’s global team of 450 employees. FXB International operates over 100 programs dedicated to providing health, education, and economic opportunity to children and families affected by poverty and AIDS in 15 countries in Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe. FXB International’s headquarters offices are located in New York, Paris, and Geneva.

About FXB International:

FXB International carries the name of François-Xavier Bagnoud, a helicopter pilot specialized in rescue operations, who dedicated his life to providing assistance to others. He lost his life at the age of 24 during a helicopter-borne mission in Mali. In 1989, his mother Albina du Boisrouvray, his family, and their friends founded the Association François-Xavier Bagnoud (FXB) in order to pursue, in the field of development, the values of generosity and compassion that guided his life.

The mission of FXB is to fight poverty and AIDS and to support the world’s orphans and vulnerable children left in the wake of the pandemic by advocating for their needs and basic rights and providing direct support to families and communities that care for them. FXB has developed a number of low-cost, high-impact programs that are designed to empower impoverished families and build self-sufficiency. To learn more, visit www.fxb.org.
